SGD to INR — FAQ

Questions people ask on this pair

What is the SGD to INR rate today?

The live mid-market rate at the top of this page refreshes every two minutes. The rate you actually receive on a transfer depends on your provider's markup and fees — which is what the two receipts above break down.

Why is my bank's rate lower than the one shown here?

This page shows the mid-market (interbank) rate — the "real" rate. Banks add a markup, typically 1.5–4%, baked silently into a worse rate, plus a flat wire fee.

Which rate goes on my shipping bill or bill of entry?

Not this one. Customs valuation uses the CBIC customs notified exchange rate, published by notification and revised periodically, not the live market rate. The market rate decides what lands in your bank; the CBIC rate decides the value on your customs documents.

A provider says "0% FX markup" — is that automatically the best deal?

Not by itself. Zero markup on a weak benchmark can still pay you less than a small, transparent margin on a strong one. The only comparison that matters is the final credited amount for your transfer size.

How much INR will I actually receive on S$500?

At the current rate that is roughly ₹37,396.25 at mid-market. Through a typical bank you'd receive less after markup and wire fees; through EximPe you keep more of it, usually a day or more sooner. Sign in for your exact, guaranteed quote.

Do I need a company in India to receive SGD?

No. EximPe is an RBI-licensed PA-CB, so exporters and foreign businesses can collect and convert without setting up an Indian entity, with compliant documentation on every settlement.
